Characters Appearances We Want To See In Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four Movie

March 5, 2024 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a selection of Fantastic Four cameos that need to be done…

Marvel Studios is preparing the introduction of the First Family of Marvel, the iconic Fantastic Four, and they’ll need some great allies and foes for what could be a long future in the mainstream.

With 2025’s Fantastic Four currently in development, and our four heroes now cast, we’ve collected some of the most notable (and must-see) characters the MCU can bring in for this first film and future installments. Join us for a look at the cameos we want to see in Marvel’s Fantastic Four…

Negative Zone

It’s concept rather than a character, but if we open up the Negative Zone in the MCU, it’s an instant hotbed of delicious goodies.

From heroes to bad guys, venturing into the Negative Zone could open the door to a gaggle of must-see characters. It could set up an excellent sequel storyline or be a looming threat for all Fantastic Four films.

Annihilus

To tie things back to the Negative Zone, one of the best villains to come out of there is Annihilus. The otherworldly being could be an excellent precursor to all things Galactus or work as sequel fodder.

Annihilus is an insectoid-like creature, sometimes in control of the powerful Cosmic Control Rod. With that, he’s been able to rule the Negative Zone in the comics; this is all part of his nihilistic goal to expand his lifeform. If that sounds familiar, it’s often used as a storyline in the MCU, so the hardcore fans should feel at home in this story.

The self-proclaimed Lord of the Negative Zone is a perfect fit as a primary antagonist for what could be Marvel’s next massive franchise.

H.E.R.B.I.E.

Already teased in the teaser image we’ve all seen now, we need the adorable robot sidekick in all the Fantastic Four movies. If J.A.R.V.I.S. can be around for that long, so can H.E.R.B.I.E.!

Originally appearing in the animated series The New Fantastic Four, the robot slowly became a staple in the comics, and we’d see him play mostly an ally to the heroes. That “mostly” part could add some great dynamic when the tech-heavy MCU characters come into contact with the lovely assistant to the First Family.

Landing a great comedic actor with dramatic range for the role could bring H.E.R.B.I.E. to the Marvel mainstream and become a new fan-favorite.

Diablo

Alchemy is the strangest intersection of magic and science, and nothing screams modern-day Marvel more than that concept. Now, what if we had a villain to bring that to life?

Diablo is an evil alchemist first introduced in 1964 and has morphed his villain status just as the Fantastic Four have evolved as heroes. With his mix of alchemical weapons and almost mystical abilities, he’s a formable foe to introduce in a world that often sees the concepts of tech, magic, and science all clashing for dominance.

Also, for that strange subset of MCU fans, this is a perfect way to bring in Mephisto, which folks are still clamoring to see. Maybe this ties the Fantastic Four to the Scarlet Witch?

Namor

This is where things get spicy, especially if you’re Sue Storm. With Namor already introduced in the MCU, it’s only a matter of time, but will they pull the trigger on this?

For those who don’t know, Namor and Sue Storm begin a scandalous relationship, and Reed Richards rounds out that love triangle. While it’s not as significant of a story as some would like you to believe, it is a bit of juicy drama to add during a later entry, mainly as Mr. Fantastic acts less fantastically with time and annoyance.

Do I want to see Namor only be used to split up Sue and Reed? No, but goodness, it’s better than him being stuck as a plus-one in the Black Panther movies.

Franklin Richards

When Franklin Richards decides to make his presence known, it will be an epic moment not only for the Fantastic Four but for all of the MCU. But when is the right time?

The young, powerful reality warper is the son of Reed and Sue, which would make for something interesting to start with him being in the picture or if this is a story we slowly build towards. No matter when he shows up, his massive powerset will likely bring in friends and foes from all over the Marvel multiverse.

From Galactus to Scarlet Witch and all the way to the X-Men, Franklin Richards entering the picture puts Marvel into a different dimension.

Spider-Man

Is this entry an exaggerated way to get Bombastic Bag-Man Suit into the MCU? Probably. But no one can deny putting Spider-Man with this iconic team would sell tickets.

More so than Spider-Man meets Daredevil, this team-up gives Marvel fans years of great material. There’s some fantastic back-and-forth, from nerd time with fellow science bro Reed to the young adult angst shared with Johnny Storm. While a spot in the official Avengers is harder to nab, a friend of the Fantastic Four is good.

Much like his turn in Captain America: Civil War, the work Peter Parker could do in Fantastic Four will do nothing but elevate Spider-Man.
