40,000: Mechanicus II video dives into the new features

August 21, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games have released a new gameplay video for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II. The video, see below, outlines some of the new features that players can expect to see when the game launches on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

In the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, players will be able to choose to play as two playable factions: the Imperium’s Adeptus Mechanicus or the arrogant and high-tech Necrons. Both factions will have their own campaigns where the total destruction of the enemy is the only satisfactory conclusion, and both will have a highly unique play-style.

In the Adeptus Mechanicus campaign, players will once again take control of Magos Dominus Faustinius and lead the armies of augmented soldiers, robotic death machines and Servitors, whilst in the Necron campaign, Vargard Nefershah mobilises her dynasty’s legions of Necron Warriors, Destroyers and Scarabs.

There’s a wide range of environments to battle over, from cities to jungles to freezing tundra. Players will be able to put their forces behind certain environmental features for cover but with a bit of concentrated fire, that cover can be destroyed. Players will also need to consider enemy reinforcements arriving.

Should you be lucky enough to be going to Gamescom this year, you can visit the Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II booth and experience the game’s prologue.

Look out for more news on Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II coming soon.
