Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV unveils gameplay trailer

September 29, 2025 by Andrew Newton

At this year’s PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, Deep Silver and KING Art Games released the first gameplay trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV (see below). This short-but-sweet in-engine trailer shows the return to the planet Kronus, long after the events of Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, with all the classic RTS battles that fans expect.

With Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, the planet Kronus erupts in fire and explosions as once again Space Marines clash with brutal Ork hordes and Necron cohorts. Joined by the Adeptus Mechanicus, the forces of the Space Marines will need to fight with all they can in order to reclaim Kronus.

Players will be able to expect an unforgettable sci-fi RTS experience set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Take command of four different factions –  Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus, and battle through a non-linear campaign for each faction. Each faction has a unique set of commanders, units, buildings and gameplay mechanics that will change the flow of the battle.

As well as campaigns, there will be a selection of different game modes for players to enjoy, including the return of fan-favourite Last Stand, Skirmish battles against AI, and multiplayer modes in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3, allowing players to fight others around the world. There’s also a Painter tool so players will be able to create a unique look for the fighting force.

Look out for more news for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV arriving in the future.
