Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None movie adaptation in development

February 12, 2020 by Ricky Church

Deadline has revealed that another adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s classic mystery novels is in development from the newly rebranded 20th Century Studios. Christie’s And Then There Were None will be written by husband-and-wife duo Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel, who recently co-wrote Seberg for Amazon with Kristen Stewart and Laura Dern.

And Then There Were None follows “10 seemingly disparate individuals invited to an isolated island, with the house guests murdered one by one during the course of their stay.” The film will retain its pre-World War II setting.

The latest Christie adaptation will be disconnected from 20th Century’s other Christie works from director Kenneth Branagh, Murder on the Orient Express and the upcoming Death on the Nile, which follow detective Hercule Poirot.

And Then There Were None is one of Christie’s most renowned novels and has been adapted several times in both film and television with the most recent being BBC’s 2015 miniseries starring Charles Dance and Douglas Booth. It is the best-selling mystery novel in the world with over 100 million copies sold.
