Alex Meraz cast as Dashiell Bad Horse in Scalped TV adaptation

Deadline has revealed that WGN America has cast Alex Meraz (Bone Tomahawk, Suicide Squad) as the character Dashiell Bad Horse in its upcoming adaptation of the acclaimed DC/Vertigo comic book series Scalped.

Scalped is described as “a modern-day crime story set in the world of a Native American Indian reservation. It explores power, loyalty and spirituality in a community led by the ambitious chief Lincoln Red Crow as he reckons with Dashiell Bad Horse, who has returned home after years away from the reservation. His return sets him on a violent path of self-discovery about his place on the Rez and on a collision course with both his estranged mother and Red Crow.”

It was also revealed earlier this month that Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi are set to direct the pilot episode of the show, which has been written by Doug Jung (Banshee, Star trek Beyond), who will executive produce alongside DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.
