Last year came word about a possible Barbarella TV series, with Drive and Only God Forgives director Nicolas Winding Refn attached to produce. Since then, we’ve heard nothing about the project, but it’s now been reported that Amazon has picked up the project for a pilot order.
Whereas previously it was stated that Refn would also direct the pilot, he has now dropped out, choosing instead to serve as executive producer. The series is yet to find a showrunner or any official cast members but surely no one can match the sex appeal and vigour of Jane Fonda in the original 1968 movie!
