Amazon releases character promo images and descriptions for The Tick reboot

July 19, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its arrival on Amazon next month, seven character promo images and descriptions have been released for the upcoming live-action reboot of The Tick which includes the titular big blue superhero alongside Arthur, Superian, Ramses IV, Overkill, Miss Lint, and Dot Everest.

This “humble, blue avenger” is a big riddle to everyone who meets him—and sometimes to himself. He’s here to fight for justice, but isn’t always sure how. The Tick sees a hero in Arthur—a sidekick with the brains he needs to make his brawn effective.

Arthur lost his father as a child, and courageously tries to keep his fears from getting the best of him. Enter The Tick, who shows Arthur he will never be “normal”—because he’s extraordinary.

He’s the most famous superhero in the world, who made a crater out of The Terror, and restored peace to The City.

Ramses runs the Pyramid Gang, which terrorizes The City. He and his gang all have Egyptian-style eye tattoos, since he understands that maintaining his brand is a huge part of his power in The City.

With hands and eyes made of metal, this “robo-ninja” is an unhinged vigilante who believes that violence is always the answer.

A super villain who runs with one of the gangs that controls The City, Miss Lint can zap her victims with a million volts of electricity.

Arthur’s sister works as a Paramedic, but her biggest emergency is always taking care of her brother. If Arthur joins The Tick to fight evil, how will she fit into his life?

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero.

The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy), Griffin Newman (Vinyl), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Valorie Curry (House of Lies), Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin) and Brendan Hines (Scorpion). The Tick is executive produced by Ben Edlund (Supernatural), Barry Josephson (Bones) and Barry Sonnenfeld (A Series of Unfortunate Events), directed by Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight), and written by Edlund.

The Tick arrives on Amazon on August 25th.
