Deadline’s report confirms the line-up for The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event, with Sawai landing the iconic role of John Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, while Wood is set to play George Harrison’s first wife, Pattie Boyd. McKenna-Bruce had already been confirmed as Ringo Starr’s first wife, Maureen Starkey, with Ronan securing the heavyweight role as Paul McCartney’s first wife, Linda McCartney.
The quartet will portray their real-life counterparts in the four films, each one dedicated to a member of the legendary group; Harris Dickinson (Where The Crawdads Sing) will star as John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Hamnet) as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) as Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) as George Harrison.
Set for release in April 2028, the scripts for The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event are being written by Jez Butterworth (Jerusalem), Peter Straughan (Conclave) and Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials). Production on all four films is to take place throughout 2026.
