Annette Bening in talks for Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile

June 26, 2019 by Ricky Church

As Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile picks up steam, Deadline has reported that Captain Marvel’s Annette Bening has begun talks to join the Murder on the Orient Express sequel, with the actress up for the role of Euphemia.

Death on the Nile will see Branagh reprise his role as master detective Hercule Poiroit, who finds himself investigating a murder on a luxurious Nile Cruise. However, as he closes in on the killer, several of his suspects meet their demise, deepening the mystery further.

In addition to Bening and Branagh, Death on the Nile will also feature Tom Bateman reprising his Murder on the Orient Express role as Bouc alongside newcomers Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Armie Hammer (Call Me By Your Name) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther).

Murder on the Orient Express screenwriter Michael Green is also returning to pen the latest Agatha Christie adaptation. Death on the Nile will be released October 2, 2020.
