Anthony Daniels encourages people to re-watch the entire Star Wars saga before The Rise of Skywalker

October 30, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Anthony Daniels, one of the stars of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, says audiences should watch the entire saga to really appreciate Episode IX.

With Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker fast approaching, anticipation for the movie and culmination of the entire series is building fast but what’s the best way to prepare for Episode IX?

Well, as J.J. Abrams is looking to tie together all three trilogies with this film, C-3P0 actor Anthony Daniels suggests that fans make sure to watch the entire saga to really appreciate Episode IX. Speaking to SFX Magazine, the actor said:

“There are only two months to go until Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas. The circle is now complete. The saga is almost over and the story just about told.”

He says fans should watch the whole thing before heading to the cinema, “an episode a week to get ready.”

That certainly sounds like a great way for Star Wars fans, and those new to the franchise, to prepare for the big event. Hopefully, Episode IX is the perfect capstone to all that has come before it.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set for release on December 19th 2019 in the UK and December 20th 2019 in North America. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker sees J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
