Ari Aster’s Beau Is Afraid gets a first teaser poster

With Hereditary and Midsommar behind them, there’s certainly a lot of anticipation for A24 and director Ari Aster’s third collaboration, and we now have a look at the teaser poster for Beau Is Afraid, headlined by Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix.

Previously titled Disappointment Blvd. and described by the filmmaker as a “nightmare comedy”, the film is said to be a “decades-spanning surrealist horror film set in an alternate present” with Phoenix playing “an extremely anxious but pleasant-looking man who has a fraught relationship with his overbearing mother and never knew his father”.

Featuring alongside Joaquin Phoenix is the cast of Beau Is Afraid are Kylie Rogers, Parker Posey, Amy Ryan, Nathan Lane, Patti LuPone, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zoe Lister-Jones, Hayley Squires, Michael Gandolfini, and Richard Kind.
