Arrow Season 7 Episode 6 Review – ‘Due Process’

November 20, 2018 by Jessie Robertson

Jessie Robertson reviews the sixth episode of Arrow season 7…

A trial episode? Let’s hope not

The Good:

– The Ollie-Laurel exchanges in prison; both on equal footing while both forgetting where they came from. Oliver, cold as ice, lays the law down. But, Laurel, for her own twisted reasons, gives him the perfect answer to any singled out accusation: You can’t put people in one box. So true; preach, girl.

– Anatoly….I’m so mixed on him. He’s kind of like an Arrow plot device now; he fills whatever role they need him to. I find it hard to believe Diaz wouldn’t kill him honestly. That being said, he still has some good lines here and I like how he’s still that dark soul; he’s almost daring Felicity to turn the way her husband did back in Russia. Goodbye Jason Brown from Colorado.

– Not enough Rene, Curtis & Dinah!

– Sometimes I forget how much of a badass John is- he proved it tonight with those gun acrobatics and beating down the Dragon himself.; was his speech to Felicity foreshadowing what she becomes in the future? Basically Malcolm Merlyn v.2?

– Don’t forget the future scenes; Roy was awesome shooting those targets and I like that William is a hacker. I believe Blackstar is a supernatural villain in DC lore, but time can only tell what purpose she has here.

– Oh, one more: Diaz’s only good scene was while Felicity had a firearm pointed at him; great delivery on those lines.

The Not Great:

– And we’re back with Anatoly, I’m just weary of him, honestly. His scene stealing info from that liquored up Russian giving away 4K TV’s was laughable.

– Diaz’ grandstanding is getting sour too. Hold on, another blow up the city plan? There’s no way that’s what they’re doing. The Longbow Hunters had such potential; seem like run of the mill henchpeople now (that is the correct term, right?)

– That was the appeal? What a joke of due process. If Laurel was a convincing lawyer, I’m starting to think that Judge isn’t who she claims to be either. And hold on, Laurel was going to kill her to get what she wanted? Really? And Dinah conveniently showed up to talk her out of it; there’s better stuff for her to be doing than that.

– Season 6 and we already have our first end of the city scenario; huh?

– Oliver’s buddy in the prison is also a dirtbag? Who knew?

I’m conflicted regarding the rating, as a lot worked for me, but in congruence with not working for the overall arch, let’s go 7/10
