Aubrey Plaza on losing out on Domino role in Deadpool 2

September 23, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Auditions are some of the most grueling things an actor can do; even our favorite performers can stumble.

That’s happened to Aubrey Plaza when she went out for a role in Deadpool 2, as she discusses in a new interview. In a video interview with Cosmopolitan, which you can the clip below, Plaza spoke about missing out on the chance to star alongside Ryan Reynolds for the Deadpool sequel, where she’d play Domino.

The actress reveals, “There’s a lot of roles that I really wanted that I didn’t get, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know; the one that sticks out to me for some reason is Deadpool 2.

She continues. “I’d just come off a plane, and I think I was shooting Legion at the time. I was really not in a good zone because auditioning – you have to be in an auditioning zone and I was in a work zone. That one hurt. Me and Ryan Reynolds, what could go wrong? We’d be so great together, but [I] blew it.”
