September 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

StudioCanal, Sunnymarch and Nine Stories have announced that Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal are set to star in Rio, a psychological thriller directed by Edward Berger (Patrick Melrose, The Terror) from a script by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Locke).

It will be produced by Benedict Cumberbatch and Adam Ackland through SunnyMarch and Jake Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker through Nine Stories.

“We are delighted to be working with Ed Berger again on this very special project,” said Cumberbatch and Ackland. “Together with StudioCanal and Nine Stories this promises to be a terrific collaboration, we can’t wait to bring Rio to life”
