Last month it was announced that Disney is remaking the cult classic Hocus Pocus as a TV movie for The Disney Channel.
The film’s original producer David Kirschner is on board, although the project – penned by Scarlett Lacey (The Royals) – will feature a new cast taking over from Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
While original director Kenny Ortega has previously given his blessing to the remake, the same can’t be said for Bette Midler, who categorically ruled out a cameo by stating “No, no, no!” during an interview with People.
“I know it’s cheap,” said Midler. “It’s going to be cheap! I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”
