Betty Buckley joins Supergirl as Reign’s mother

September 30, 2017 by Gary Collinson

TV Insider is reporting that Tony Award-winning actress Betty Buckley (Pretty Little Liars, The Leftovers, Split) has signed on for a guest role in the upcoming third season of The CW’s DC superhero show Supergirl.

Buckley is set to play Patricia Arias, the adoptive mother of Odette Annable’s Reign. According to the site, “the Arias women have been estranged since Sam became a teen mom andtheir relationship is made all the more complex by the secrets Patricia holds.”

Given that Reign is a biological weapon created by by Kara’s father Zor-El on Krypton, we can probably safely assume the secrets that Patricia holds relate to Reign’s extraterrestrial origin.
