Bow to Your New King with the poster for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

November 29, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

With Kaiju making waves on the small screen in the form of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and Toho’s OG (Original Godzilla) earning rave reviews for his big-screen return in Godzilla Minus One (read our ★★★★★ take here), Warner Bros. and Legendary have decided to get in on the monster mash by dropping the first poster for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The fifth film in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s $1.9 billion grossing Monsterverse, Adam Wingard’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a direct follow-up to his $450 million grossing pandemic-era blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong, and it will roar into cinemas around the world on April 12, 2024.

The sequel will bring back Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle, and recruits newcomers Dan Stevens, Fala Chen and Rachel House for a sequel that looks to delve into the origins of these iconic Kaiju.

This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is in cinemas from April 12th, 2024.
