Brianna Hildebrand says Deadpool 2’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead will be “a lot cooler”

March 13, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Brianna Hildebrand spoke to ScreenRant to promote the upcoming teen slasher-comedy Tragedy Girls at the ongoing SXSW Festival, but naturally the actress was fielded a Deadpool 2 related question on what’s to be expected regarding the evolution of her fan favourite Negasonic Teenage Warhead character.

Hildebrand teased “I’ve not yet actually read the script, but I do think she will be a lot cooler, based on the wardrobe ideas and stuff. I’m very excited.” She then commented on some concept art, adding: “Just some ideas, nothing that’s concrete or anything. But I think it’s cool that she’s grown and matured and she still has so much of this essence of a punk kid.”

The actress also discussed how she relates to the character, saying: “That was exciting, just because I felt so close to Negasonic in that she reminded me so much of myself. Like young, teenage/tweenage, angsty like pissed off Brianna is who she reminded me of. It was just like, ‘Oh! She’s so cute. I get her, you know?’ So yeah. That was super exciting to see that people liked her too because it felt like people liked me, or the part of me in there somewhere.”

As yet, Deadpool 2 is without a firm release date, but is expected to hit cinemas at some point in 2018, with production starting this Spring / Summer. John Wick co-director David Leitch takes over from Tim Miller, who left the project due to creative differences.
