Variety is reporting that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is set to join James Franco in the upcoming comedy Why Him?, which is being directed by John Hamburg (Meet the Parents, I Love You, Man) from a script by Ian Helfer (Meet the Parents, Zoolander).
According to EW, Why Him? follows “a Midwestern dad and his family as they travel to see their daughter at college over the holidays. When they arrive, the family learns their little girl has a new wealthy tech industry boyfriend, who the father must now compete with for her affection.”
Why Him? is set to start production in February and is expected to arrive some time next year.
