Cannes winner How To Have Sex shares trailer and poster

October 9, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, MUBI has released a trailer and poster for writer-director Molly Manning Walker’s Cannes Un Certain Regard-winning drama How To Have Sex which explores the lives of three teenage girls as they embark on a rites-of-passage holiday together in Malia; watch it below…

Three British teenage girls go on a rites-of-passage holiday, drinking, clubbing and hooking up in what should be the best summer of their lives. As they dance their way across the sun-drenched streets of Malia, they find themselves navigating the complexities of sex, consent and self-discovery. Captured with luminous visuals and a pitch-perfect soundtrack, Manning Walker’s directorial debut paints a painfully familiar portrait of young adulthood, and how first sexual experiences should – or shouldn’t – play out.

Featuring in the cast of How To Have Sex are Mia McKenna-Bruce (Persuasion), Samuel Bottomley (Ladhood), Lara Peake (Brave New World), Shaun Thomas (Ali & Ava), and newcomers Enva Lewis and Laura Ambler.

How to Have Sex arrives in cinemas on November 3rd after a UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 10th.
