TV Insider is reporting that Carly Pope (The Tomorrow People) has joined the cast of Arrow for its fifth season, with the actress set to play Susan Williams, a Coast City journalist who comes to Star City “looking to make a name for herself” by targeting Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) for a big story.
In the comic book universe, Susan Williams is the wife of Jim Jordan, younger brother to Hal Jordan, a.k.a. the Green Lantern – a character who has been teased numerous times in the Arrowverse, but is yet to actually make an appearance.
Given that Superman is set to join the Arrowverse with a role in Supergirl, surely it’s only a matter of time before we see Hal Jordan making his debut, right?
Pope is one of several new additions to the cast of Arrow for its fifth season, including Josh Segarra (Chicago P.D.) as The Vigilante, Rick Gonzalez (Coach Carter) as Wild Dog, Tyler Ritter (The McCarthys) as Detective Malone, and Chad L. Coleman (The Walking Dead) as the new villain Tobias Church.
Season five of Arrow gets underway on The CW on October 5th.
