Cartoon Network reviving Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes

March 11, 2014 by admin

Cartoon Network is to revive the classic animated shows Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Bugs Bunny as part of its slate of original and acquired programing for this year, Entertainment Weekly has revealed.

The Tom and Jerry Show is set to premiere on April 9th and is said to “preserve the feel of the original rival cat-and-mouse series but take it into high-definition”. Meanwhile, CN will also launched the 22-minute comedy series Be Cool Scooby-Doo, as well as Wabbit – A Looney Tunes Production, a compilation of shorts starring Bugs Bunny alongside the likes of Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote and newly-created characters.

Along with these shows, Cartoon Network’s upcoming slate also includes its first ever miniseries in the 10-part Over the Garden Wall, which features Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), Collin Dean (The War at Home) and Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men).
