Chad Stahelski teases John Wick: Chapter 4 story, says the film has a “conclusion to an emotional thread”

May 3, 2022 by Liam Waddington

In an interview with Collider during CinemaCon, John Wick director Chad Stahelski teased what fans can expect from the storyline of John Wick: Chapter 4 when it debuts in theatres in March 2023.

“I think Chapter 4 is a good continuation of all three previous films, and it’s got a bit of a conclusion to it, which is great. We introduce a ton of new characters that have a lot to say about John Wick from his past and from, obviously, present. I think it’s brotherhood, it’s hope. It’s what the life would really be like as a bit of an existential crisis with John, and I think that’s the fun part of the movie.” Stahelski continued, “there’s a good conclusion to an emotional thread that we’ve already had.”

While Stahelski didn’t elaborate on which emotional thread will be concluded since the studio is keeping the plot strictly under wraps, it is safe to assume that the film will continue the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum with Keanu Reeves’ John Wick aiming to get revenge against Ian McShane’s Winston for betraying him and taking the fight to the High Table directly.

John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Lance Reddick as Charon, Ian McShane as Winston, and Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King. Newcomers to the John Wick franchise include Japanese-British pop singer Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen (Ip Man), Hiroyuki Sanada (Army of the Dead), Marko Zaror (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp), Bill Skarsgård (It: Chapter Two), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption).

John Wick: Chapter 4 is set for release in theatres on March 24th, 2023.
