Chris Pine talks Wonder Woman, debunks rumour about dual roles

October 6, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in November, Heroic Hollywood reported that Chris Pine would be taking on double duties in Wonder Woman, portraying the character of Steve Trevor during World War I, as well as his identical grandson in the present day.

Well, it turns out that HH must have got the scoop from the same source who was insistent that Pine was actually playing Green Lantern, as the actor has debunked the “scoop” with a firm “no” during an interview with The Huffington Post.

Pine also spoke a little about the film itself, stating that: “It was fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot. It was fun to do some comedy. It was fun to do some action. The part kind of asked for a little bit of all of it, so it was a good time. I think what’s really fun and exciting about it … different about it, actually, is that there’s a nice love story at the center of an action film, and I don’t think you see that often in these kinds of films.”

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 2nd, 2017 with a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
