Christian Bale in talks for Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder

January 6, 2020 by Gary Collinson

It seems that Christian Bale may be about to make the jump from the DC Universe to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Deadline reporting that the former Batman star is in talks to join Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder.

The sequel will reunite Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi with stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), while Natalie Portman also reprises her role from Thor and Thor: The Dark World as Jane Foster (who, as we’ll see in Love and Thunder, will be assuming the mantle of Mighty Thor). Waititi will also be back as the fan-favourite Korg.

As yet, there’s no word on a possible character for Bale, who was last seen portraying racing driver Ken Miles in Ford v. Ferrari, although one would suspect it the role is likely that of the film’s villain.

Are you excited about the prospect of Christian Bale joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Who would you like to see him playing in Love and Thunder? As always, let us know in the comments, or on our social channels…

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to begin filming this summer ahead of a release on November 5th 2021.
