Cobra Kai‘s Peyton List is going to face some very different teen drama as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that she will headline Paramount+’s School Spirits as a young teen stuck in limbo who sets out to investigate her mysterious death.
School Spirits is based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate and Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen. Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars) will be the showrunner for the eight-episode season.
The series will follow “a teen (List) who is stuck in the afterlife who decides to investigate her mysterious disappearance alongside a group of other students who are also stuck in limbo at their high school.”
Nate and Megan Trinrud will write the series pilot, which will be directed by Max Winkler (Jungleland). The Trinrud will executive produce with Goldstick. It is not known when the series will begin production or is intended to air on the streaming service.
The School Spirits graphic novel will be released in Fall 2023.
