Colonise the Red Planet with Mars: The Last Exodus

June 5, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Developer Cyborg Dreams has announced their upcoming title Mars: The Last Exodus. Blending colony-sim, real-time strategy, survival and deep resource management, Mars: The Last Exodus will take players to the Red Planet on humanity’s final attempt to colonise it.  Watch the new announcement trailer below….

In Mars: The Last Exodus, players are challenged to colonise the unforgiving surface of Mars by growing crops, extracting ice and creating structures for resources such as oxygen and electricity. Players will be able to shelter their colonists in protective domes and power their systems using solar arrays and backup generators.

The unfriendly Martian environment isn’t the only hazard for players as there are swarms of bugs that don’t take kindly to humans arriving on their world. It will be vital that players balance their expansion with their ability to defend themselves, as the more the colony grows, the more the swarms will attack.  To combat these, players can build turrets, deploy mechs and capture bugs to turn them into living weapons.

Each colonist will have their own unique individual traits, quirks and upgradable skill tree. Over time, they will be able to form relationships, raise families and shape the colony’s productivity. This also helps raise the colony’s population.

There are three tech trees that players can advance through – Mining, Farming and Military. By researching through the different tech players can become a mech commander, a farming pioneer or a resource tycoon.

Look out for Mars: The Last Exodus coming to Steam soon.
