Comic Book Review – Age of Ultron #9

June 7, 2013 by admin

Robb Ghag reviews Age of Ultron #9…

“To save the planet Earth – and maybe the entire galaxy! – the heroes of the Marvel Universe made the most controversial decision of their lives. The results have brought disaster the likes of which they have never seen before. And now, with one final chance.can they make it right?”

Don’t let the first double splash page fool you, this book has gone downhill. When it first started the concept of an alternate reality The Age of Ultron was a fantastic concept. Maybe it’s the time machine, or maybe it’s the fact that different versions of the heroes end up meeting themselves, but this book has quickly turned into a spoof of  Back to the Future.

And it is nowhere near as good as that franchise. I think I have figured out why the story has jumped around all over the place, and why the artist’s talents have changed hands a couple of times. The Age of Ultron will become a regular series starting in July of 2013. When this series first started I would have thought this would be an amazing new book, but now, I couldn’t care less.

I’m already invested nine books into this storyline, so I have to read the “epic” conclusion in book ten, but I feel it will be far from conclusive. If anything I can see it ending on a cliffhanger for Marvel to build the regular series moving forward.
