Could Aaron Taylor-Johnson be the next James Bond?

December 3, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Can you go from Kraven The Hunter to James Bond? If tabloid sources are to be believed, Aaron Taylor-Johnson could be getting his suit and tie ready.

British rag The Sun recently reported that the actor met with Barbara Broccoli and impressed her upon his audition at Pinewood Studios.

One source claims “he is now one of the front-runners [after] Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September, producers and Barbara loved him.”

Taylor-Johnson joins a long list of actors said to be rumored for Bond, including Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, James Norton, and Idris Elba. The Elba links have been slightly downplayed, but Barbara Broccoli is known for keeping information close to her chest.

Our previous James Bond, Daniel Craig, recently spoke about his stint as the iconic spy and why it was time for him to wrap up the role and move on for a new generation. An actor like Aaron Taylor-Johnson is young, fresh, and British enough to feel like an actual new start for Bond.

Taylor-Johnson is best known for his time as Kick-Ass in the two Kick-Ass movies, and he also starred in Avengers: Age of Ultron and 2014’s Godzilla. While he doesn’t pack the household name value that Idris Elba or Tom Hardy could bring, the young Brit is something James Bond hasn’t seen in years: youth.

We’ll see Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony Picture’s upcoming superhero film Kraven The Hunter, where he’ll star as the titular Spider-Man foe. He was last seen alongside Brad Pitt in 2022’s action romp Bullet Train.

Who would you like to see as the next 007? Does Aaron Taylor-Johnson fit the bill? Let us know your thoughts on out social channels @FlickeringMyth…
