Daisy Ridley gives her take on whether Baby Yoda is cuter than the porgs

November 27, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Daisy Ridley, the star of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, has given her thoughts on if Baby Yoda is cuter than the Porgs from The Last Jedi.

The reveal of what is affectionately being dubbed Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian has rocked the internet. The cute little creature has won many hearts among Star Wars fans so far but is he more adorable than the porgs from Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

Well, actress Dasiy Ridley, who has appeared on screen with the porgs, was asked on the Tonight Show which she thought was cuter.

“Look, I’m not a big fan of the porgs. We worked for six months on The Last Jedi and in every interview, ‘What about the porgs?’ I was like, ‘The porgs were there for a day! I was there every day for six months! We worked hard.’”

So it sounds like Ridley’s animus towards the porgs sways her choice in this clash of cute Star Wars creatures. There’s no question that Baby Yoda is the fandom’s new favourite addition to the canon.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set for release on December 19th 2019 in the UK and December 20th 2019 in North America with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
