Variety is reporting that Universal Pictures’ Monster universe has taken another step forward, with David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man) signing on to pen the script for the studio’s planned Bride of Frankenstein remake.
While plot details on the film are being kept under wraps, the site states that Bride of Frankenstein will be set in the present day, which will allow the film’s characters to have crossover capabilities with Universal’s other Monster movies, including The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Wolf Man, Van Helsing.
Universal reportedly wants Angelina Jolie to direct and star in Bride of Frankenstein, although it is said that she is waiting on a script before deciding whether to commit.
