DC Entertainment pitching a Supergirl TV show

September 4, 2014 by Gary Collinson

It’s a good time to be a DC fan, what with Arrow about to start its third season, and The Flash, Gotham and Constantine all incoming this new television season. And now Bleeding Cool is reporting that Kara Zor-El could be the next DC character heading to the small screen.

According to the site, Michael Green – a producer on shows such as Smallville and Gotham, as well as co-writer on the Green Lantern movie – is attached to a Supergirl TV series, which DC Entertainment is said to be actively pitching to networks.

The story is supported by E! Online, which claims that The CW was first to be pitched the show, although it seems the network may have decided to pass.

Should the project find a home, this wouldn’t be Kara’s first live-action appearance, with Helen Slater taking on the role in 1984’s Supergirl movie, and Laura Vandervoort portraying her in Smallville.
