Deadpool movie to start shooting in March

January 20, 2015 by Gary Collinson

It looks like 20th Century Fox has finalised a start date for the Merc with the Mouth’s long-gestating solo movie, with Global News reporting that filming on Deadpool will get underway in March, with the studio booking two months at North Shore Studios in Vancouver.

Deadpool is to be directed by Blur Studio chief Tim Miller, and will see Ryan Reynolds reprising the role of Wade Wilson from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. No further casting announcements have been made, although it has been reported that T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) is in line for a comedic role, and Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones) is said to be in talks to play the villain.

Deadpool is set for release on February 12th, 2016 and will kick off a busy year for Fox’s X-Men properties, with X-Men: Apocalypse landing in May, followed by Gambit in October.
