January 4, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Syfy has released a poster and trailer for The Ark, the new sci-fi drama series from showrunners Dean Devlin (Independence Day, Stargate) and Jonathan Glassner (Stargate SG-1).

Set 100 years in the future, the series follows the crew of the Ark One as they embark on a colonisation mission which is vital to the survival of the human race, and find themselves fighting to stay on course after a catastrophic event causes massive destruction and loss of life on the spacecraft. Watch the trailer below…

The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.

Featuring in the cast of The Ark are Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read and Ryan Adams.

The Ark premieres on Syfy on February 1st.
