Grit and Valor – 1949 brings dieselpunk real-time tactics to Steam

March 28, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Megabit and developer Milky Tea have announced the release of Grit and Valor – 1949 on Steam for PC.  This dieselpunk real-time tactics roguelite takes players to an alternate-history World War II where they will take command of a squad of resistance mech pilots in the fight against the Evil Axis.  Watch the launch trailer below….

In the alternate World War II of Grit and Valor – 1949, the whole of Europe is on its knees as the technologically advanced evil Axis forces use their Mechs to pacify the populations of conquered countries. Resistance has ended in failure for most, but a few survivors have banded together to create one final attempt of resistance.  They are Europe’s last hope for victory.

Taking command of a Mech Resistance group, players will need to fight their way into the heart of enemy territory to detonate an EMP bomb and turn the tide of battle.  To achieve this victory, players will need to think carefully and strategise every move on the battlefield.  Use high ground and cover, exploit enemy weaknesses and use every opportunity to their advantage.

At the end of each of the four regions, players will have to fight a boss battle against an Axis General.  These will be epic battles against waves of elite units, new hazards and kaiju sized boss mechs.

Featuring:

  • Customisable squads – allowing players to configure their Mechs and Pilots to adapt to new strategies.
  • Roguelite replayability, so no two playthroughs are ever the same.
  • Four distinct regions to fight through, each with unique gameplay mechanics, challenges and randomly generated battlefields.
  • An alternate history dieselpunk setting of a Europe under the Axis.

Grit and Valor – 1949 is available on Steam now with a 20% discount until 9th April.
