Dig VR to receive the world’s most expensive Collector’s Edition

November 2, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Wired Productions and developer Just Add Water have announced that their groundbreaking VR game, Dig VR, has a collector’s edition available to pre-order, but this isn’t just any Collector’s Edition that you will find in shops or on Amazon, this is the most expensive Collector’s Edition in the world and costs half a million pounds.

This is the Collector’s Edition to beat them all and is likely to appeal to those who love the idea of the game so much they want to start their own company and make the game literally come to life.  It’s only available to purchase from the Wired Productions website and is very unlikely to appear in CEX at a later date.

The contents of this ridiculously extravagant edition include:

  • One custom ASHVILLE-wrapped JCB 100c-2 Excavator – fully equipped and ready for a true-to-life digging experience. The owner of this Collector’s Edition will be able to liaise directly with Ashville to agree a look for their custom wrap!
  • One custom DIG VR wrapped JCB 100c-2 Excavator – As if it has come straight out of Diglington, this excavator will come fully equipped and ready to dig!
  • Two Meta Quest 3 VR headsets – offering an immersive gameplay experience as close to reality as possible.
  • Two copies of DIG VR – so players can enjoy the co-op gameplay modes, digging in virtual environments with friends or family.
  • Trip to ‘Dig This’ in Las Vegas – a unique adventure to experience America’s heavy machinery playground. Travel and hotel included.
  • Tour of the JCB Museum in the UK – for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s top construction equipment brands. Travel and hotel included.
  • Family pass to Diggerland in Kent – the ultimate theme park for machinery lovers, offering an array of digger-based rides and activities.
  • Custom hard hat and high-vis jacket – personalized with the buyer’s name, making it a collector’s piece in its own right.
  • In-game personalization – buyers will get their names added in to the game credits.
  • Bonus sticker sheet – a fun addition for all ages.

It should be noted that the buyer will need to arrange their own collection of the two diggers as Royal Mail won’t know where to put the stamps. Both diggers will be available to collect six months from the purchase date.

If you are one of those who wants to spend their £500,000 on something else but still want to play Dig VR then look out for the game arriving on Meta Quest on the 14th of November, priced £14.99 / $19.99 / €19.99.  Pre-orders are available via Meta with a 25% discount prior to launch.

Would you purchase this Collector’s Edition if you could? Let us know on Flickering Myth’s social media…
