Disney wants to make more Planet of the Apes movies

Disney is planning to make more Planet of the Apes movies according to a recent report.

Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox has certainly increased its portfolio of high profile movie franchises. One of these is Planet of the Apes and now we know that Disney has every intention of continuing the series.

Variety is reporting that the Fox film division of Disney will go “in a new direction, with an all new development slate that will focus on a select group of properties” accord to CEO Bob Iger.

The report also states: “James Cameron’s sequels to Avatar will proceed, as well as a continuation of the Planet of the Apes series (no new film in that series has been announced since the release of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes).”
