Doctor Who spinoff Class gets premiere date, guest appearance from Peter Capaldi

September 24, 2016 by Gary Collinson

The BBC has announced that its upcoming Doctor Who spinoff Class will premiere on BBC Three online next month, with the first two episodes arriving on October 22nd. And that’s not all, as it’s also been announced that Peter Capaldi will make an appearance as the Twelfth Doctor in the opening episode, titled ‘For Tonight We Might Die.

“At last, we can tell you a little more about Class!” said series creator Patrick Ness. “Though there are still many, many secrets to come. Many. Like, a lot. But of course the Doctor is in episode one! That’s how these things are done. Truly, though, I can’t wait for everyone to see the show; we’ve worked so hard and I’m so proud of it.”

Class takes place in Coal Hill School, and follows four alienated students – played by Greg Austin, Fady Elsayed, Sophie Hopkins and Vivian Oparah – who are ““charged with a great responsibility by the mysterious alien known as the Doctor: guard against the creatures of nightmare that want nothing more than to find a way through to Earth and take it for their own.”
