Call it a comeback as Chip ‘n Dale return in first trailer for Disney+’s Rescue Rangers movie

April 27, 2022 by EJ Moreno

The first trailer for Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers is here, and it will be a treat for any long-time Disney fan. We joined the pair 30 years later, and the film promises hijinx as we’ve never seen from them before.

The former Disney Afternoon television stars live in modern-day Los Angeles, where we see Chip and Dale living vastly different lives. The universe brings the iconic pair together, and they begin a mission to save their friendship and save some close friends.

Bringing back the spirit of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the new trailer teases a beautiful blend of animated and live-action to the delight of fans. Eagle-eyed Disney fans will easily spot plenty of Easter eggs in the trailer. Check it out below…

In “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip (voice of John Mulaney) has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale (voice of Andy Sandberg), meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former castmate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.

Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers stars John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live) as Chip and Andy Samberg (Palm Spring) as Dale, along with KiKi Layne (If Beale Street Could Talk), Will Arnett (Arrested Development), Eric Bana (Dirty John), Flula Borg (Pitch Perfect 2), Dennis Haysbert (24), Keegan-Michael Key (Schmigadoon!), Tress MacNeille (The Simpsons), Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave), Seth Rogen (Pam and Tommy), J.K. Simmons (Being the Ricardos), and Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live).

Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers will premiere on Disney+ on May 20th.
