Edward James Olmos joins The Predator

March 24, 2017 by Ricky Church

First he’s fighting Replicants, then Cylons, now Predators. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Battlestar Galactica actor Edward James Olmos has joined the cast of Shane Black’s The Predator. Olmos will play a military figure as Boyd Holbrook and his team hunt down the Predator.

Olmos recently starred in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and is set to star in Mayans M.C., the spin-off series to Sons of Anarchy. He also announced recently that he will be reprising his role of Gaff for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic Blade Runner.

Filming on The Predator has already started in Vancouver, where Olmos will be joining Black, Holbrook and the rest of the cast and crew. Black confirmed last month The Predators will be rated R as “PG-13 is for pussies” while Arnold Schwarzenegger is unlikely to cameo.

The Predator is currently set for a February 9th, 2018 release and features a cast that includes Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Augusto Aguilera (The Fifth Man), Jacob Tremblay (Room) Sterling K. Brown (This is Us, The People v. O.J. Simpson), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) and, Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) and Jake Busey (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series).
