Eli Roth presents Jimmy and Stiggs in booze and drug-fuelled trailer

September 8, 2025 by Ricky Church

Announced at the Toronto International Film Festival today, horror production company Black Fawn Distribution has acquired Jimmy and Stiggs, the first film to be produced under Eli Roth’s new production outfit The Horror Selection. Watch the trailer and check out the first batch of images below…

Jimmy and Stiggs was written and directed by Joe Begos, who also stars in the lead role alongside Matt Mercer (Contracted).  The film “follows Jimmy Lang, an out-of-work filmmaker who, after receiving a perfect storm of lousy news, spirals into a bender during which he claims to have been abducted by aliens. Fearing their imminent return, Jimmy reaches out to his estranged friend Stiggs to help him gear up for war.”

The film, which recently had its premiere at FrightFest in London, England, will be distributed by Black Fawn in a deal between them and Roth’s Horror Selection exclusively in theatres across Canada beginning September 25th.

“I’m so thrilled to have ‘Jimmy and Stiggs’ in the hands of Black Fawn Distribution,” said Roth. “They completely understand this audience, how to reach them, and how to turn this type of film into an event. The movie is a special one and those who see it will absolutely love it, but it takes some clever marketing to create an event and there’s nobody better to make this film a hit in Canada.”

“Jimmy and Stiggs is a batshit insane film that genre fans need to see on the big screen,” said Black Fawn president Chad Archibald. “It’s a wild ride and we’re excited to be teaming up with Eli, Joe, and the entire Horror Section family to splatter their brand of neon alien blood across Canada.”

A perfect storm of lousy news sees out-of-work filmmaker Jimmy Lang spiral into a bender, during which he claims to have been abducted by aliens, and fearing their return, he contacts his old friend Stiggs to help him gear up for war.

Jimmy and Stiggs will premiere on September 25th.
