Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights adds Hong Chau, Alison Oliver and Shazad Latif

November 22, 2024 by Ricky Church

Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights has grown its cast to star alongside Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. Joining the pair in the film are Hong Chau (The Night Agent), Alison Oliver (Saltburn) and Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery).

Wuthering Heights is based on Emily Brontë’s first and only novel that is considered a classic of English literature. It revolves around the Earnshaw and Linton families and their troublesome relationship. The Gothic story has inspired several film, television and stage adaptations as well as being the inspiration for 80s rock icon Kate Bush’s single of the same name.

Chau will play Nelly Dean, the film’s chief narrator. Oliver will play the Linton’s daughter Isabella Linton. Shazad plays Edgar Linton, a wealthy, aristocratic man who marries Catherine Earnshaw (Margot Robbie).

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi play the lead roles of Catherine Earnshaw, the Earnshaw’s daughter, and Heathcliff, a foster son in the Earnshaw family whose presence causes much of the friction between the two families.

Robbie will produce through her company LuckyChap. This will mark Elordi and Oliver’s second time on a film from Fennell after starring in Saltburn together where they played brother and sister in a rich aristocrat family.

Wuthering Heights is in pre-production, prepping for a UK shoot in 2025.
