Back in July Constantine executive producer Daniel Cerone expressed his ambitions to expand the supernatural side of the DC universe in the upcoming show by introducing the character of The Spectre, and now it has been revealed that Emmett Scanlan (The Fall, Guardians of the Galaxy) has nabbed the role of Jim Corrigan in the upcoming NBC show and will appear as a recurring guest star..
IGN describes Constantine’s version of the character as “a homicide detective in New Orleans who is plunged into Constantine’s world of occult horrors. Furthermore, Corrigan is someone who is obsessed with justice, and who doesn’t let police procedure or red tape stop him from putting away the bad guys, even if the bad guys turn out to be inhuman.”
Constantine is set to premiere on October 24th in the States, with a cast that includes Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior) as John Constantine alongside Angelica Celaya (Burn Notice) as Zed, Harold Perrineau (Lost) as Manny, Charles Halford (True Detective) as Chas Chandler and Michael James Shaw (The Wire) as Papa Midnite.
