Ethan Hawke is returning to The Purge for the show’s season 2 finale

December 11, 2019 by Liam Waddington

The Purge franchise originally started back in 2013 as a home invasion thriller starring Ethan Hawke who played James Sandin, a security system salesmen whose family home is invaded by a man trying to escape a murderous group.

However, despite his fate in the first film, USA Network (via Bloody Disgusting) has recently revealed that Hawke’s James Sandin will be making a cameo appearance in The Purge season 2 finale:

“James is featured in the finale’s cold open, which flashes back to one week before the first national purge and the first time his high-tech security system is tested.”

Titled “7:01 AM,” the finale picks up as Purge Night rages on and Esme, Ryan, Marcus and Ben fight for their lives and their loved ones. The finale will air Tuesday, December 17 at 9/8C on USA Network.

Based on the hit movie franchise of the same name, the series is executive-produced by franchise creator James DeMonaco and stars Derek Luke, Paola Nunez, Max Martini, and Joel Allen.

Based on the hit movie franchise, THE PURGE revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Season 2 explores how a single Purge night affects the lives of four interconnected characters over the course of the ensuing year, all inevitably leading up to the next Purge. Premiering this fall on USA Network, the second season of the anthology series opens on Purge night but dives deeper than ever before into what the Purge world looks like the other 364 days of the year.
