Evan Peters’ Quicksilver returning for X-Men: Apocalypse, talk of solo movie

October 24, 2014 by Gary Collinson

We heard a few months back that Evan Peters’ Quicksilver would likely be returning to the cast of 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse following his showstealing turn in this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Well, now second unit director Brian Smrz has confirmed the news, as well as teasing a potential solo movie for the speedster.

“They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff,” Smrz tells Newsarama. “I’ll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it’ll be full-time… There will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to. That’ll be fun.”

Asked if he had any ambitions to direct his own X-Men movie, Smrz stated that: “We talked about Quicksilver before. I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character.”

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release May 19th, 2016 with James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) all confirmed to return and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) linked to the role of Apocalypse.
