FANTASTIC BEASTS RETURN

After scoring a pretty good monster hit last year with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it was revealed yesterday that its sequel will start production in August 2017 for release the following year. No extra cast have been confirmed, but we know this is the second in a five part series of films. The movie will shoot in UK and Paris, moving away from its New York setting of the first film. Read more about that here.

GO GO SPOILER WARNING!

Power Rangers hits cinemas in a couple of weeks, but some surprise cameos have been released, as well as a tease of the mid-credits sequence. We won’t post them here in case you want to go into the movie fresh, so you read more here at your own risk.

THE OTHER LEIA

The actor who played Princess Leia at the end of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has revealed that she would be happy to return to the franchise following the death of Carrie Fisher. “I would be lying if I said no,” Ingvild Deila said. “It would be great. Really scary at the same time because she’s such an iconic character and I really, really respect and admire Carrie Fisher and who she was. There would be two very big shoes to fill, you could never replace her.” Read more about that story here.

GO! GO GODZILLA ANIME

It’s going to be a great year for Netflix original content, with Iron Fist, Defenders, The Punisher, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Stranger Things 2 and Castlevania all hitting the streaming service, and it’s been announced that the Godzilla anime will also be unleashed at some point. Read more about that story here.

WONDER BOXING

There has been some speculation, due to a photo shared by actress Connie Nielsen on social media last year, that renowned boxer Ann Wolfe (who has held multiple championships in four different weight classes simultaneously) would be appearing in the DC blockbuster Wonder Woman as Artemis, and this has now been confirmed by director Patty Jenkins. Read more about that story here.

DUMBO BEGINS

Tim Burton’s live-action Dumbo will go into production this Spring, it has been revealed. No official cast has been announced, but there are rumours that Eva Green and Danny DeVito will join. Read more about that story here.
