Fast paced platformer Shio out now on Nintendo Switch

August 24, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Coconut Island Games has announced that their fast paced platformer Shio is available now for the Nintendo Switch via the eShop.  Bringing a special twist to the classic side-scrolling design, Shio will provide the ultimate test of skill and reflexes.  To see what this challenging game has in store, watch the gameplay trailer below…

In Shio players will be challenged to explore the furthest reaches of the world using lanterns.  These floating lamps allow huge chain jumps and gravity defying combinations of leaps through four beautifully designed chapters, with each taking you to new lands with their own themes.

There are no enemies to fight in Shio, instead the environment is the only enemy players need.  Each land encountered will challenge players with their own weather patterns and obstacles, including fierce winds, raging fire and heavy fog.  There are also a series of hidden rooms to discover that reveal the story behind the game’s hero.

“Shio” isn’t your typical platformer. Floating lanterns aren’t just decorations – their purpose is to help you explore the world of “Shio”. Jumping from lantern to lantern should be easy, no? Wrong. You’ll need to harness the best of your wits and dexterity to navigate through this world.
Who is the man under the mask? What is he doing in this world? What is he seeking? There are many questions, but only one way to find the answers. To truly understand this world, you must not simply follow the obvious path which lies before you. Try to find hidden rooms and discover this masked man’s past.

Shio is available now on the Nintendo eShop.
