Final Destination: Bloodlines brings in franchise best box office opening weekend

May 19, 2025 by EJ Moreno

Who knew the sixth Final Destination would be such a massive hit? With Bloodlines dropping this past weekend, we saw the long-running horror franchise hit new heights.

With the fourth-best opening of the year so far and one of the top ten overall best horror openings ever, Final Destination: Bloodlines sits nicely at the top of the box office this weekend with $51 million. It would see another $51 million from the overseas marketing, launching the gory good time too a global opening of around $102 million.

Given its $40 million budget and its break-even point of about $100 million, it’s already a bit of a hit for Warner Bros. Bloodlines is easily the best opening for the franchise, with 2009’s The Final Destination being the best opening up to this point with just $27 million. Could we see a new franchise best when it’s all said and done, as the best entry so far has been the 2009 film, bringing in roughly $187 million.

Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky direct Final Destination: Bloodlines, and it stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana as a young woman who discovers that her grandmother was able to cheat death and save numerous lives, albeit with frightening consequences. Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Gabrielle Rose, Brec Bassinger, and Max Lloyd-Jones also star. The late Tony Todd also appears, offering a fan-favorite cameo many have said is a perfect send-off.

Final Destination: Bloodlines is in cinemas now.
