First look at Cape Fear TV series starring Amy Adams, Patrick Wilson and Javier Bardem

February 4, 2026 by Gary Collinson

Apple TV has officially shared a first look at Cape Fear, the upcoming TV series inspired by Martin Scorsese’s 1991 film adaptation of the John D. MacDonald novel The Executioners and starring Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson as a married couple of public defender attorneys who find themselves targeted by the psychotic Max Cady (Javier Bardem) upon his release from prison.

Inspired by the 1991 remake directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielberg, a storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.

Cape Fear has been created by Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, Brand New Cherry Flavor) and features a cast that also includes CCH Pounder, Anna Baryshnikov, Margarita Levieva, Jamie Hector, Lily Collias, Joe Anders, Malia Pyles, Patrick Fischler, Ted Levine and Ron Perlman.

Cape Fear premieres on Apple TV+ on June 5th.
