6. Back to the Future (1985)
Directed by Robert Zemeckis
Starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, Thomas F. Wilson and Claudia Wells
A young man is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr. Emmett Brown, and must make sure his high-school-age parents unite in order to save his own existence.
Members of a certain generation will have fond memories of Back to the Future. Whether it was running out the VHS tapes because it was watched ad nauseum, taping the edited-for-TV versions off BBC One or attending special screenings, Back to the Future has a special place in the heart of many. And rightly so.
“DeLoreans. Flux Capacitors, Clock Towers and Buddy Holly renditions. This sci-fi classic had everything and launched Michael J Fox to superstardom. And that was before he even got on a Hoverboard! Heart-warming, reaffirming and effortlessly engaging, Back to the Future has aged gracefully. Though, the less said about that Secret Cinema screening, the better…” Ray Willmott, Staff Writer
